BCom Required Papers
BCom students are required to complete a set of five 'core' required papers, ensuring that every BCom graduate has a broad understanding of the business environment.
As well as the BCom required papers, and the papers required for your major, depending on your degree/major, Otago allows students to select a number of Commerce, Humanities or Science papers of your choice.
Your Major is the subject area in which you choose to specialise, providing a comprehensive understanding of a chosen area of business.
To complete a BCom you must complete a minimum of 360 points (including the required core papers) of which 180 points must be above 100-level. Up to 90 points may be taken from outside Commerce (e.g. Humanities or Sciences).
