Do your research!
Before you apply to Carrington, make sure you have a good look around this website and check us out in the University of Otago prospectus. It is not easy to decide which college to select. Be assured that every college at the University of Otago will provide you with the best support, service and experience for your first year at Otago.
If you have the opportunity it would be great for you to come and visit Carrington. This gives us the opportunity to show you around and, most importantly, meet you!
Tours of Carrington
The team at Carrington are enthusiastic about meeting prospective residents and showing off our wonderful college. On a tour of Carrington you will get to see a range of facilities, talk about our care and support programmes, as well as our history of academic success. Our staff are very happy to answer any questions that you have!
Tours can be arranged by phoning our reception on 03 479 5533 or by emailing one of our staff. If you would like a tour of the college with the Warden during normal working hours please email Robyn Madden (firstname.lastname@example.org) well in advance so she can fit you into her schedule.
Our preference is to schedule tours so that intending residents and their family have the best opportunity to understand and experience our college. With a small staff team at Carrington we will do our best to facilitate a tour for 'walk-in' visitors, however, please understand if we are not immediately available to assist you.
If you have finished researching all of Otago's excellent colleges and want to apply for accommodation, you can do so online through the University of Otago Student Accommodation Centre.
When to apply
Applications for full year accommodation at Carrington College are accepted by the Student Accommodation Centre from August 1st each year and it is a good idea to have this completed by 30 September.
Once completed the Student Accommodation Centre will forward your application onto Carrington. There is no limitation on the number of applicants accepted from any particular school or institution. Residents will be chosen based on the information they provide in their application.
The Warden will notify the successful applicants in October.
