Support at Carrington

Here at Carrington, we have an extensive network of well-trained and highly experienced support staff. Below are just a few of the people who offer support for Carrington residents.

House Tutors

The House Tutors are our valued student staff team who live onsite and are employed to help you as you navigate your way through your first-year at the University of Otago. There is one House Tutor allocated to each living area of the College and they act somewhat like a big brother or sister in that area. The term House Tutor is synonymous with "Residential Assistant" that is used at other Residential Colleges at the University of Otago.

They are your first port of call for any little (or sometimes big) issues you might need help with, are a wealth of knowledge about the inner workings of the University and what it takes to succeed at Otago, and they are generally great people to have a chat with! They have a key role in academic mentoring, pastoral care, supervising the College, and organising events for students.

Senior Management

The Senior Management team have a high-level of interaction with students. They operate on an open door policy so students can pop in and say hi, bringing any questions or concerns they have to the staff.
