Rudi Kresna is PhD student at The University of Otago, New Zealand. He is one of awardees of Indonesian Education Scholarship provided by Indonesia Endowment Fund for Education (LPDP). He graduated a Bachelor of Animal Husbandry from Bogor Agricultural University – Indonesia. He completed his Double Degree Master programs, which are Master of Economics from Padjdajaran University –Indonesia and Master of Public Policy from National Graduate for Policy Studies (GRIPS)-Japan. Before he is starting his PhD, He worked as a civil servant for Agricultural Agency of Bandung Regency-Indonesia which involved in many programs in agricultural development, especially in smallholder farming developments.
Rudi is studying the link between social capital and natural capital to promote sustainability and resilience of smallholder dairy farmers through the adoption of integrated dairy farming systems. Social capital performed by interactions among farmers in communities or cooperatives has become an important element in agricultural development. This research may contribute for formulating suitable policies for agricultural development in Indonesia
