Vehicle Automation: Socio-technical visions and expectations

Dr Debbie Hopkins, Transport Studies Unit, Oxford University, UK will examine the various discourses used to legitimise an automated future by looking at the emergence of vehicle automation in response to its various negative externalities and inefficiencies.

Dr Hopkins teaches and researches low-carbon transitions, urbanism and climate change at the University of Oxford, UK. She is a former research fellow at the Centre for Sustainability and is currently on secondment to the Ministry of Transport, NZ
