The New Zealand Herald reports:

A new urine test being trialled by Canterbury scientists could one day save lives. The test, being trialled in a pilot study being run by the Canterbury District Health Board and the University of Otago, Christchurch, could detect kidney disease much earlier and allow treatment and lifestyle changes to be made before it was too late.
