Campbell Microanalytical Laboratory
The Campbell Microanalytical Laboratory in the Department of Chemistry has, for over 60 years, provided an internationally recognised, reliable microanalytical service for New Zealand and overseas scientists. It specialises in the elemental microanalysis of research, environmental and industrial samples. Specific analytical research on problem samples and the development of new methods are also undertaken. Attention to quality and accurate work are hallmarks of the Laboratory.
Centre for Trace Element Analysis
The Centre for Trace Element Analysis is a world-class research Centre enabling researchers to employ the latest technology in analysing trace elements for use in human nutrition, medical diagnosis and research, forensic analysis, archaeology, fisheries, biological and chemical sciences at the University of Otago. This Centre greatly enhances the existing research efforts while also allows new avenues for investigation to be explored.
Isotope Ratio Mass Spectrometry Unit
The Chemistry Department has re-established its Isotope Ratio Mass Spectrometry Unit (IRMS) providing stable isotope analysis for research and teaching, environmental, forensic and commercial purposes. These services were previously provided by Iso-trace Ltd.
