Background

Wayne trained in Christchurch and Melbourne and then moved with his family to Fiji in 2000 to work as a Senior Lecturer in Anaesthesia and Physiology at the Fiji School of Medicine. He and his family returned to Christchurch in 2002.

Wayne has continued to be involved with anaesthesia education in the Pacific region and further afield, and has been on frequent teaching trips and short surgical missions.

He was the Pacific region coordinator for a short trauma management course called Primary Trauma Care (PTC) from 2003-2010.

In 2010, he co-authored a short course called Essential Pain Management (EPM) which has now been translated into at least six languages and taught in more than forty countries worldwide.
