Leigh O’Brien

PhD candidate

Leigh O'Brien is an NZ registered dietitian. Her areas of expertise are older person's nutrition and dietary management of functional gut disorders. Leigh is undertaking her PhD with the University of Otago, Christchurch under supervision of Professor Richard Gearry, Professor Tim Wilkinson and Dr Catherine Wall. She is investigating the prevalence of chronic diarrhoea in New Zealand residential care facilities, the impact on quality of life and dietary solutions for older adults that experience chronic diarrhoea both in residential care and free-living in the community.
