Dr Khoon Lim in mid-interview with Thomas Mead of TV's Newshub.
Thomas Mead of TV's Newshub reports on the funding success of Dr Khoon Lim, who is a polymer chemist with the Christchurch Regenerative Medicine and Tissue Engineering (CReaTE) research group.
Dr Lim's application for Marsden funding has just won $300,000 worth of research support over three years. One of the key challenges of making viable 3D-printed organs is establishing a network of functioning blood vessels, so that large and complex tissue structures can survive. Lim intends to make breakthroughs in this area and ultimately contribute to a better aging experience for us all in the future.
Also featured in the interview is Otago student, Cesar Alcala Orozco, who is completing his tissue engineering PhD under the supervision of Dr Lim and his primary supervisor Associate Professor Tim Woodfield.
