Bachelor of Physiotherapy student spend their fourth year doing full-time clinical work in clinical environment.
This can be in a District Health Board or community-based setting (for example, the Barrington Physiotherapy Clinic).
The students undertake four 6-week clinical blocks and one 6-week research block.
After successfully completing this clinical fourth year, students are eligible for registration and can practices autonomously in New Zealand as physiotherapists.
The Christchurch Centre serves as teaching base for fourth-year students completing their clinical education and experience in the Canterbury, West Coast and Nelson provinces.
The School's teaching clinic – the Barrington Physiotherapy Clinic – is located in the Christchurch suburb of Barrington.
