University of Otago, Christchurch campus profiled at Showcase 2017

Wednesday 4 October 2017 12:57pm

Showcase 2017 was a hit with the public. People walked through a giant inflatable bowel and saw the effect of disease on their insides.

Postgraduate students gave short talks about their research. The winner of the postgraduate talks was Chidimma Aham-Chiabuotu, who shared her work on women's experiences of sexual violence in northern Nigeria.

The public got to visit the Simulation Centre where medical students practise skills before using them in real situations.

Tours of cancer, infection, 3D-bioprinting and genetics laboratories allowed the public to learn about latest research.
