Suzanne is a member of the Māori/Indigenous Health Institute (MIHI) based at the University of Otago, Christchurch. MIHI actively engages in the development of curriculum content that is informed by health research, and utilises learning tools that engage the learning in Hauora Māori competencies.
This lecture will explore the role of medical education as one vehicle for addressing Māori health inequities. Suzanne will discuss and document the development of the Hauora Māori curriculum at the Otago Medical School, which has led to national and international awards and recognition.
