Genetics of NZ Families with Premature Coronary Heart Disease
Does your family/whanau have a history of early heart disease?
Would you be willing to volunteer for a study into the genetics of New Zealand Families with Premature Heart Disease, to be conducted by the University of Otago, Christchurch?
We are looking for two or more living members of a family/whanau (brothers, sisters, parents or children) who have both had early coronary heart disease (before the age of 50 years in men and 60 years in women).
To help us in this work, we would ask you to:
- Come to a one-off visit to a research clinic after an overnight fast.
- Complete a questionnaire about your own heart health and family history of heart disease.
- Have your blood pressure, weight, height and waist measured.
- Give a blood sample for DNA and other known markers of heart disease risk.
