‘Vitamin C for life’ research and education

Our research is showing that patients with severe infections such as pneumonia and sepsis have low vitamin C levels and need higher intakes than healthy individuals. We are investigating the optimal levels required and how to best administer vitamin C to these patients, as well as its potential effects on patient outcomes.

Our research is also showing that people with metabolic dysregulation, such as diabetes and obesity, have low vitamin C levels and we are investigating the optimal levels required by these people, as well as its potential effects on inflammation and oxidative stress.

We also undertake various outreach activities in order to translate the findings of our research for health care professionals and the general public.
