Dr Emma Spencer receives HRSC award.
Dr Emma Spencer from the Nutrition in Medicine Research Group received a Health Research Society of Canterbury (HRSC) Emerging Researcher Award for the best postdoctoral presentation last week.
Dr Spencer was one of eight early career researchers chosen to present at an HRSC event held at the Health Precinct's Manawa building. Her presentation discussed vitamin C status in type 1 and type 2 diabetes mellitus – relationship to body weight and disease severity.
The prizes were sponsored by the Canterbury Medical Research Foundation.
