Sue joined the University of Otago, Christchurch Simulation Centre team as a Senior Lecturer in January 2022, however she has been involved in postgraduate teaching at the Centre since 2011.

Sue completed her medical training in Adelaide, Australia in 2001. She worked in the Northern Territory and Western Australia where she commenced her training in Anaesthesia. Sue moved to Christchurch in 2009 and completed her Anaesthesia training here in 2011.

The use of simulation in medical education has long been one of Sue's main interests. She was the clinical lead of simulation for the Department of Anaesthesia for several years and worked closely with the Simulation Centre to develop the Anaesthesia simulation program.

Sue's clinical teaching has involved working with the Trainee Interns during their critical care rotation as well as teaching basic resuscitation skills and instructing on the CORE course. Sue teaches across all areas at the Simulation Centre and will undertake research in her areas of interest in medical education.
