    Overview

    Practicum offering clinical knowledge and skills for specialist mental health nursing and mental health care delivery. Critique of practice and application of research and theoretical principles to mental health nursing clinical practice.

    The paper is designed to meet the needs of new graduates and nurses new to mental health practising within both community and institutional settings in the mental health area and will encourage students to identify their own learning needs in relation to their area of practice. This paper forms part of the Postgraduate Certificate in Health Sciences (Nursing - Speciality Mental Health) course and must be taken in conjunction with NURS 403 Mental Health Nursing Practice.
