- The paper's content will include:
- Basic knowledge of different interpersonal theories
- The theory and application of interpersonal theories to the development of IPT
- Understanding the approach to an interpersonal psychotherapy assessment process
- Developing the ability to relate patient information to interpersonal theory, thus developing formulation of the presentation of a depressed patient with regard to interpersonal psychotherapy
- Understanding of how patients present with the four problem areas described in IPT (interpersonal role disputes, interpersonal role transitions, grief, interpersonal skill deficits)
- Understanding the approach to initiating sessions with a patient in IPT
- Understanding the approach to ending sessions of IPT
