I am an applied mathematics and computer science engineer. After completing my Masters of Engineering in France, I worked as a freelance computer science engineer in Europe, providing website creation and maintenance, programming and creation of customised software solutions (my speciality being computer vision/graphics), as well as training and teaching. In 2017 I completed my PhD here at the University of Otago - “Lumbar spine models from radiographs”.
My research interests are primarily in graphics and computer vision. During my PhD my main interest was on statistical shape analysis of human lumbar vertebrae, and 3D reconstructions of the human spine from bi-planar radiographs. I have also been involved in many research projects within the Dental School, School of Physiology and Geography Department. My role in the research projects has been to implement computational methods of geometric morphometrics (point distribution models) to describe anatomical structures that are widely used for diagnosis and treatment plans in clinical dentistry. I have also developed software scripts for quantitative analysis of muscle contraction patterns during prolonged periods of time.
I am currently teaching a graphics paper here at the University of Otago and the Effective Programming paper.
