I worked as a freelance software developer for a range of companies in Germany before I decided to undertake a PhD project in the area of Computer Science Education in 2011 at Otago university. In 2015 and 2016 I worked for Scott Technology in Dunedin as a vision systems engineer.

My research interests are based around education and learning analytics as well as the application of augmented and virtual reality.
