    Learning Outcomes

    Students who successfully complete the paper will be able to:

    • Demonstrate understanding of a wide range of Sanskrit grammatical forms, and of Sanskrit syntax;
    • Demonstrate knowledge of essential Sanskrit vocabulary;
    • Read Sanskrit in both Roman and Devanagari script and;
    • Attempt the translation of unseen Sanskrit texts;
    • Translate prepared Sanskrit texts;
    • Demonstrate an understanding of Sanskrit philology and its application in the study of Indian religions;
    • Provide a piece of sustained translation and study of Sanskrit text.
