- Recommended for general practitioners (GPs) and GP registrars and sexual health physicians, and those doctors considering a future in sexual and reproductive health, general practice, obstetrics and gynaecology, paediatrics or emergency medicine. Consisting of six 2-hour evening audioconferences on Zoom conducted fortnightly over twelve weeks, mostly on a Tuesday evening.

On successful completion of this paper, students will be able to:
- Demonstrate clinical expertise in the management of pre-pregnancy, antenatal and postnatal care with low levels of complexity.
- Demonstrate clinical expertise in consultation with a specialist in the management of all levels of intrapartum care and in pre-pregnancy, antenatal, and postnatal care with moderate levels of complexity.
- Demonstrate clinical expertise in the management of early gynaecological cancer diagnosis/screening, early pregnancy complications with appropriate consultation with a specialist.
- Demonstrate self-learning in women’s health and other relevant areas of medical practice, including recognition of limits of their own knowledge and abilities.
- Understand and explain underlying physiology and pathology, and the available assessment and management options in order to provide safe and effective care.
- Solicit and accept constructive feedback.
- Demonstrate values of fairness, empathy, acceptance, kindness, respect, and responsibility to and for all people.

This Distance Learning paper is taught remotely. It consistes of six 2-hour evening audioconferences via Zoom over three months.The teaching platform is hsmoodle.otago.ac.nz which is used for prelearning and preperation activities. There are five assignments.
