Professor Neil Waddell’s presentation 'Oral Micro Engineering' will focus on research into the bite forces generated in the mouth when eating or clenching and how these effect the design of dental restorations and the materials we use to make them.
He has been a Dental Technician since 1981 and has worked in Rhodesia, South Africa, Australia and New Zealand. He holds a Doctor of Philosophy (University of Otago) Master’s Diploma in Dental Technology (Technikon Natal), Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Dental Technology (University of Otago), and a Higher Diploma in Education (University of Natal).
He has lectured internationally on a wide variety of subjects in dental technology during the past 25 years and during this time, developed specialist expertise in the areas of implant overdentures, dental materials, maxillofacial and ocular prosthetics and crown and bridge ceramic restorations.
