Patient fees

Overview

The fees at the Faculty of Dentistry are generally cheaper that that provided in private practice, however it may mean the treatment may take longer or more visits are required as the Faculty is also a training facility for students.

The Faculty of Dentistry is unable to give the estimated cost of treatment as it depends on each individual situation. The dentist or student will discuss the charges with you prior to any treatment commencing. However in order to identify what treatment is required it is necessary to complete an examination and x-rays to identify a plan of treatment which in most cases you would need to pay for.

In some instances the dentist or student can discuss with you the payment plan option, however this is generally for treatment costs over $200.

ACC and Community Service Cards

ACC subsidy

If your visit is accident-related, the Accident Compensation Corporation (ACC) may meet the cost of some or all of treatment. If you've had an accident which requires dental treatment, please tell the first dentist you see so that the ACC claim forms can be completed.

The Faculty of Dentistry will claim the cost of the treatment on your behalf. If ACC doesn't cover the full cost of the treatment, we'll send you an invoice for the part they don't cover.

Community Services Card discounts

Patients who hold a current Community Services Card may be eligible for subsidized treatment if you meet certain criteria. If you have a Community Services Card, please show us at reception when you attend a clinic.
