- A high level of skill and understanding with routine administration of local anaesthetic techniques, regional neuroanatomy of the face and jaws and assessment of the effectiveness of local anaesthesia
- Familiarity with advanced local anaesthetic techniques and regional blocks
- A high degree of familiarity with common oral medicine conditions
- Familiarity with common pathology related to the oral cavity, jaws and neck
- A high level of skill and understanding with biopsy techniques and referral writing
- A high degree of familiarity with common medical conditions related to general dental practice, including common medications
- Familiarity for initial trauma assessment and management and ability to work within a trauma team
