  • A high level of skill and understanding with the principles of oral surgery assessment, investigations, techniques, instruments and management of complications
  • A high level of skill and understanding with routine administration of local anaesthetic techniques, regional neuroanatomy of the face and jaws and assessment of the effectiveness of local anaesthesia
  • Familiarity with advanced local anaesthetic techniques and regional blocks
  • A high degree of familiarity with common oral medicine conditions
  • Familiarity with common pathology related to the oral cavity, jaws and neck
  • A high level of skill and understanding with biopsy techniques and referral writing
  • A high degree of familiarity with common medical conditions related to general dental practice, including common medications
  • Familiarity for initial trauma assessment and management and ability to work within a trauma team
