    Learning Outcomes

    The objective of this paper is to apply the principles of patient care and practice management to enable students to reach a high level of clinical proficiency in the provision of dental hygiene care.

    1. Promoting knowledge
      • Demonstrating advanced knowledge in specific areas of clinical dentistry as they relate to the practice of dental hygiene
      • Demonstrating competency in the dental hygiene treatment of patients, including those with physical, mental and medical disabilities
      • Demonstrating understanding of the legal and ethical aspects of dental hygiene practice
    2. Promoting understanding
      • Demonstrating the ability to critically review the literature in oral health
    3. Promoting lifelong learning
      • Encouraging lifelong learning by providing a stimulating and high-quality learning environment that encourages students to challenge, critique and question knowledge in relation to Oral Health
