We are excited to be hosting Dr Maeve O'Beirne, a Sabbatical Visitor in the Department of General Practice and Rural Health.

Dr O'Beirne joins us from the University of Calgary where she is a member of the Department of Family Medicine and Department of Community Health Sciences. Her research interests are patient safety and the effects of prenatal nutrition on postnatal outcomes for mothers and babies.

Dr O'Beirne's research on patient safety in family medicine links strongly with Professor Susan Dovey's HRC funded study on harms in general practice.

As well as writing papers and planning research, Maeve and her husband are enjoying exploring the walking tracks around the South Island while they are in New Zealand.
