Study highlights potential issues with new liquor store

A study done by Professor Jennie Connor, Professor Kypros Kypri, Dr Melanie Bell, and Dr Kimberly Cousins in 2010 has been used to warn the community of North Dunedin of the potential consequences of a proposed new liquor store in a popular student flatting area. The Alcohol outlet density, levels of drinking, and alcohol-related harm in New Zealand: a national study revealed a 4% increase in binge drinking for each additional liquor outlet within 1km from home.
