We are pleased to welcome Fran to the NTMHRU team as a Professional Practice Fellow specialising in Hāoura Māori. Fran has a diverse background including working in the arts (theatre), in public health (Māori health promotion and protection), and teaching hauora Māori in the medical cirriculum here at Otago. We are excited to have Fran support hauora Māori teaching across the under-graduate and post-graduate public health papers.
When Fran isn't working she is an active community member as a Māori theatre-deviser, a champion for tāngata whaikaha (Māori with disabilities), is an active member of the Te Taurahere o Tainui ki Ōtepoti (Tainui whānau living in Dunedin), and a waka ama paddler.
