The CSDG celebrates another successful year

Wednesday 14 November 2018 3:18pm

The CSDG went to Glenfalloch for lunch to celebrate nearing the end of another successful year of exciting research.

The lab had success with research funding, gaining project grants from the Cancer Society and Leukaemia and Blood Cancer NZ.

We celebrated some notable publications from lab members, including Michael Meier's Development paper, and Sarada's paper on decoding gout genetics.

Michael successfully defended his PhD thesis, and Nabila handed in her Masters thesis.

4th year students Caitlin (Honours) and Bridget (MSc preparation) had a great year! We are sad to farewell Caitlin, but we are looking forward to having Bridget back in 2019 to complete her MSc.

We also said 'so long', but not goodbye, Megan Leask, who has skipped over to Biochemistry to start her postdoctoral fellowship. Stay in touch, Megan!

It's been a busy year for international interns, with Patricia Wildmann completing her time with us and Lisa Nechyporenko joining the lab. It's wonderful to have these lovely folk join us for their international studies.

Finally, we welcome new lab members Stephanie Lee and Anastasia Labudina.

We're already looking forward to another great year ahead!CSDG3web Nov 2018
