An introduction to Māori public health, exploring the nature and extent of the Māori population, determinants of Māori health outcomes, Māori health inequities and initiatives to address these.
This paper will provide you with an introduction to Māori health status and outcomes and the determinants of Māori health. We will also develop an understanding of equity in health. A range of key public health issues will be discussed, outlining what the issue is, why it is important, how this is being addressed, and what other opportunities to affect the issue could be adopted.
