Research

Primary focus: Working with Professor Harlene Hayne, Dr Tamlin Conner, and Dr.Tess Patterson to implement and assess the effectiveness of mindfulness meditation applications delivered via smartphone.

Side projects include:

  • Working with Benjamin Riordan, Dr Tamlin Conner, and Dr Damian Scarf to implement and assess a series of mobile and online alcohol use interventions and tools.
  • Working with Dr Gareth Treharne and Dr Charlene Rapsey on qualitative work to establish whether it is possible to involve transgender community members in the training of incoming health professionals.
  • Working with Dr Gareth Treharne and Dr Melanie Beres to assess an RCT of a sexual violence prevention programme delivered to Residential College students.
  • Working with Dr Gareth Treharne, Dr Damien Riggs and Dr. Sonja Ellis to assess the impact of social norms and social connectedness upon suicidality.

Additional details

I look to be involved in research regarding how the use of mobile apps can harness these approaches and how they can be adapted to provide healthcare to the masses. I am interested in a broad range of health behaviours and processes.
