Dawnelle joined the Economics Department as a PhD student in April 2017. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and Finance from St. George’s University (Grenada), and a Master’s degree in International Economic Policy and Analysis (with distinction) from the University of Westminster (UK). Her PhD research investigates how income inequality relates to economic growth, child poverty and healthcare expenditures over the life cycle in New Zealand. Her research interests include income inequality, poverty, social mobility, health economics and economic growth.
