As an accredited facilitator
I have effectively supported clusters, whole school staff, individual teachers, and whānau as part of the Pasifika Success Talanoa project. I am currently a facilitator in culturally responsive education as part of the Pasifika Success Talanoa project.
My experience includes
School leadership: I led a low decile primary school for 11 years until the end of 2011.
School evaluation: For 11 years I was employed as an Education Review Officer, working in both primary and secondary schools.
PLD facilitation: For the past 4 years I have worked in the role as a PLD facilitator for the Pasifika Success Talanoa project working with clusters of schools from Invercargill to Levin delivering workshops based on increasing school leaders’ and teachers’ capacity and capability to be culturally responsive teachers, and to raise students’ educational achievement. In this work I am skilled at delivering comprehensive Pasifika education workshops for school leaders and teachers, focussing on gathering and using data, implementing culturally responsive teaching practices, supporting appropriate curriculum design, and strategies to engage parents, families and communities.
