I have worked with leaders, teachers, students and, indirectly, family and whānau in Literacy Professional Development The delivery approach used is appreciative inquiry to meet school, leaders and teacher needs so they are challenged to engage with new learning based on research evidence and teaching inquiry into practice to accelerate small groups of priority students’ learning and achievement.
My experience includes
Many years as a primary school teacher and leader, and adviser, facilitator, mentor and coach at Education Support Services, University of Otago, College of Education. The contracts I have facilitated in are: Literacy, New Zealand Curriculum, and Assessment. I have a passion for literacy and meeting the needs of diverse learners. My work allows me the privilege of helping school leaders build their expertise in the literacy field, and, with my support, develop teacher capabilities to accelerate Māori, Pasifika and Learners with Special Needs.
