As an accredited facilitator
I have spent sixteen years developing PLD experiences and in-school one-on-one support across the schooling sector - mainly involved in, but not limited to, the HPE learning space.
I have been both a facilitator and creator of PLD responses that are evidence-based, take an inquiry perspective, and are responsive to teachers' needs and that of their akonga.
My experience includes
- Health Education, Physical Education and Home Economics Facilitation for Primary and Secondary, that enables teachers to develop authentic programmes with a deeper understanding of the New Zealand Curriculum based on inquiry and underpinned by effective pedagogy and quality assessment.
- Syndicate and Departmental reviews- mentoring HODs/HOFs and initiating structures for rigorous self-review processes.
- Supporting schools to develop robust processes for the Consultation of their Health Education Programme (a two year requirement under the Education Act) that involves a culturally responsive whole school approach.
- Other PLD experiences include NZC Facilitation and implementation - developing a school curriculum and Effective EOTC Management in schools.
