Biography

As Coordinator of Academic Programmes at the Southland Campus, I have responsibility for all of our teacher education programmes; primary, primary bilingual, early childhood and secondary. I have been at the campus since 1993 and have seen many changes, but a constant factor has been the focus on teaching and learning that we have across programmes and courses which makes for a positive and cohesive learning community for staff and students. Effective teaching for learners, no matter which sector they are in, is at the heart of our teaching and research. My passion for literacy learning and teaching continues from my previous work as a Reading Recovery Tutor.
