Great Britain > The Taskerson / Furniss house

The Taskersons lived in a comfortable house whose back garden abutted on a beautiful, undulating golf course bounded on the far side by the seaUTV, 18.

Russell Lowry writes that the 'Furness' [sic] family "sublimated into the Taskersons" (The Art of Malcolm Lowry, 22). The Furniss family lived at "Clevelands", Meols Drive, West Kirby, during the time that Lowry knew them. Colin Dilnot notes that "Clevelands" is opposite the Royal Liverpool Golf Course, which fits the topography Lowry depicts in his novel.
