    Overview

A tour through the world's 6,000 languages, learning where they come from and how they are put together: the foundational sounds, words, sentences and meanings of language.

Language underlies all of life - every lecture, every conversation, every society - and linguistics is the scientific study of language. In this class, you will learn how languages around the world work, where they come from, and how to analyse them.
