In an initiative funded by the Ted and Mollie Carr Endowment Trust & Estate of Ernest Hyam Davis, we have dedicated resources to study Auckland children and adults with all forms of epilepsy.
Individuals in this study are referred to us through the extensive network of paediatricians, paediatric neurologists and adult neurologists across the Auckland region.
Individuals with epilepsy can also self-refer to the project. To enhance the focus on this region of the country, we have a dedicated research assistant who contacts and subsequently characterises the epilepsy of all individuals and families whom are referred.
Individuals and families are then put into varying ongoing projects determined by their type of epilepsy and the number of people in their family with epilepsy.
