Alison on working at Executive Education
I am enjoying getting to know my new colleagues, and our students and clients, as I find my feet in this Department. As a fan of life-long learning – both formal and informal – I relish being part of the team that supports the process of personal growth and achievement that is at the heart of Executive Education.
Alison on her role at Executive Education
As a person who thrives on positive outcomes, I enjoy a role where I can be of service, and make a difference. My role includes coordinating events and conferences, maintaining databases, processing payments and meeting all the participants’ individual needs. I provide administration support to both the Executive Education Manager and the MBA Manager.
Background and experience
When I first went out looking for work, I was offered two jobs: Office Junior, or Checkout Chick. I chose the Office Junior position, and have been administrating, one way or another, ever since. My life choices took me to the UK for 15 years where I worked for a variety of commercial organisations. Since returning to NZ, I’ve worked for the Ministry of Education, and now for University of Otago, in both the College of Education, and Otago Business School. I fill my non-work hours with amateur theatre, Toastmasters and dance.
