Overview

A DipGrad is a  great way to retrain or to update existing qualifications. Many students  also find it a convenient way to continue learning and that it is a  useful bridge to postgraduate study.

The Department of Food Science offers a Diploma for Graduates (DipGrad) programme to graduates interested in pursuing a career in Food Science.

Information for applicants

Who is it for?

Graduates of an undergraduate degree wishing to pursue a career in Food Science. Any graduate may undertake a DipGrad, irrespective of their previous major subject (specifically, you don't have to have a BSc already).

Still studying? You can begin your DipGrad while you are still working towards a  Bachelor's degree. However the Diploma can only be awarded once you are  ready to graduate, or have graduated, with your Bachelor's degree.

How long does it take?

The Diploma for Graduates (DipGrad) programme may be completed by full-time candidates in one to two years depending on prior study.

What does it entail?

A DipGrad involves a minimum of 120 points with at least 72 points at 300-level or above, and a minimum duration of one year.

Depending on a student's background it may require more than 120 points and a duration of more than 2 semesters in order to ensure that the DipGrad is approximately equivalent to the relevant major.
