University of Otago support
The University of Otago Library’s online guide for writing a research thesis is a great resource for postgraduates.
The Graduate Research School offers a range of services to support graduate research students.
Genetics Journal Club
Genetics Journal Club is a great way to keep up to date with the most interesting genetics research from around the globe. You can discuss, debate and dissect the publications with fellow Genetics Otago members. Anyone with an interest in genetics is welcome to attend!
GJC is organised by the Teaching programme Deputy Director, Dr. Stephanie Hughes.
With a strong emphasis on critical assessment of the published work rather than simple 'recapitulation', GJC's goal is to promote critical and independent thinking in our emerging researchers across campus.
We strongly recommended that all genetics postgraduate students attend the GJC, for their professional development and to support their fellow students.
For the latest info about the GJC and topics, please ensure that you are on the email list for Teaching (staff and postgrads email Stephanie) or Genetics Otago (researchers, sign up to Genetics Otago here).
