Travel to Queenstown
As well as direct connections to New Zealand’s two major international airports (Christchurch, Auckland) and many regional airports, Queenstown Airport also has daily flights to and from Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and the Gold Coast. This makes for good accessibility from Australia and expands the amount of easy travel options from further afield.
By car, the drive from the nearest major international airport at Christchurch to Queenstown (taking in some awesome scenery along the way) via Lake Tekapo and Cromwell will take from 5.5 to 7 hours.
There is a relatively cheap daily bus service that leaves Christchurch Airport at 7.30am, getting into Queenstown at 4.30pm - InterCity bus service
