Our staff and students are involved in a variety of outreach activities. These activities are undertaken through teaching, research and public service, and benefit those involved in a variety of ways. The public learns more about what the university community does and how it can benefit them, students learn to apply what they learn to real-world problems and issues, and the school can use our research to help society to tackle social, environmental, and other problems at various scales. Undergraduate and graduates students also have the opportunity to incorporate outreach activities into their undergraduate projects and graduate research projects.

Why connect with Geography at Otago?

There are many reasons why your organisation would benefit from collaborating with the University of Otago's School of Geography. By forming a relationship with our School, you can:

  • Gain access to relevant research
  • Source appropriate graduate talent
  • Work with experienced geography experts to conduct complex research
  • Provide a real-life geography problem for student based research projects
  • Develop a platform to raise your profile with the many people who comprise the University community, staff and students alike

We are continually seeking to develop new relationships and to find ways to better service the varied needs of industry. So if you have a geography problem that we can help with, or an idea about how we might work together, please get in touch!
