Funded Postgraduate Opportunities in Geography

Funded 1 or 2 year MA student to work on a topic of their interest

The School of Geography at the University of Otago is seeking applications for a funded 1-year or 2-year MA student to work on a topic of their interest. It is anticipated that the chosen candidate and their project will fit under the research interests of one or more of the human geography staff.

Financial support for this research consists of $13,000 over either a 12 month or 24-month period ($6,500 per year) with a February start date. In addition, the chosen candidate is eligible for additional financial support through School funds for research related expenses, research and teaching assistantship positions.

Students should have completed an undergraduate degree in Geography or a related discipline with a Grade Point Average in the A range (over 80%) in their last two years of study, have experience utilizing a range of social science research methods and have excellent writing skills.
