Ngāti Whakaue (Te Arawa), Ngāti Maniapoto
Bachelor of Science with Honours (Geology)
Geoenvironmental Consultant at Aurecon, Wellington
2021 BLAKE GNS Ambassador

I grew up in Rotorua, and as a child cycled tracks to school that would weave through bubbling mud pools and steaming geysers – inevitably, I grew fascinated by the earth's processes. My Geology studies took me to some of the most beautiful places in New Zealand and even overseas. I studied onboard Otago's marine research vessel, tinkered with microscopes in laboratories, camped in alpine environments, and carried out fieldwork in Japan. I now work at an international engineering and design company, advising clients on how to reduce pollution and contamination, creating a healthier environment.
