Explore Antarctica and learn about the potential impact of climate change on it and us at the Otago Museum from Saturday 21 January to Sunday 29 January 2017. There are lots of different events on throughout the week including: TEDxScottBase Viewing Party, National Geographic Continent 7: Antarctica Film Screening, The Magic and Science of Antarctica Live Show and Far from Frozen Planetarium Show.
This science showcase has been developed through a collaboration between Otago Museum, Geology Department, Surveying Department, Physics Department, Antarctica New Zealand and the New Zealand Antarctic Research Institute. It has been supported by the Ministry for Business Innovation and Employment's Unlocking Curious Minds fund.
One of the Geology Department's contributions is a 3D model of Antarctica with removable ice sheets. The model has data projected onto it to show various things from the underlying geology to the scenarios for sea level rise.
