FluTracking promo message imageThe Ministry of Health is looking for volunteers to help track influenza. People who live in New Zealand who have easy access to email on a weekly basis are being invited to help .

The initiative uses FluTracking, an online health surveillance system to detect epidemics of influenza.

The seasonal voluntary online survey is designed to monitor flu-like symptoms and can help the Ministry to map out the onset of flu by region, and the severity of the influenza season.

This gives a more complete picture of influenza-like illness in New Zealand by identifying trends and hotspots around the country.

The NZ Ministry of Health is working collaboratively with Australia to track flu across both countries.
